How many e-mails did you get from students the day after break ends saying they could not make it to class due to transportation issues?

One car broke down, and the other was stuck in the Philadelphia airport.
Dr. Pion is a pseudonym for a physicist whose research once included study of the pi meson. His expertise also includes the history of nuclear weapons and proliferation, but his main interest today is teaching "physics for scientists and engineers". He uses the pseudonym CCPhysicist when commenting in certain blogs because he teaches at a community college.
There is no connection at all between this blog and the real people (a veterinarian and a physician) known as Dr. Pion who show up in a Google search on this name.

That would be me. (My used car's antitheft system decided to reactivate itself, and I had never used it before, so I had no clue what was happening. I hate cars.)
I like that one was in a car accident yesterday, called two others to make sure that someone told me she'd be late, and still showed up to turn some stuff in before going home to collapse. Not the sort of perseverance I expect dealing with students at the elite R1 school where I went ABD.
