An important reminder from Unbalanced Reaction about data backup brought the following question to mind:
How many different types of storage media do you have at home? (I don't care if you have the hardware to read them or not.)
Although I suspect I am missing something, here is my list of the 9 (possibly 11) different types of media that are in my house:

Dr. Pion is a pseudonym for a physicist whose research once included study of the pi meson. His expertise also includes the history of nuclear weapons and proliferation, but his main interest today is teaching "physics for scientists and engineers". He uses the pseudonym CCPhysicist when commenting in certain blogs because he teaches at a community college.
There is no connection at all between this blog and the real people (a veterinarian and a physician) known as Dr. Pion who show up in a Google search on this name.

I definitely don't have any punch cards. I might have a 3.5" disk or two from college, but other than that everything else is newer.
Ah, but that doesn't really answer the question. How many? And how many can no longer be read?
Oh! Gee, I don't know! For the 3.5 inchers, probably 10?
Sorry, I meant how many different types of media. I gather that means your only other storage is flash?
I wonder if that will persist longer than zip disks or be replaced by something else. Probably not ...
