This clearly shows the evolving importance of various research topics. By the way, a big part of the "Carbon" peak would be due to the "nano" peak: Carbon Nanotubes.
Also, anyone from my generation has to be amused to see "blog" passing "postmodern" in the post-postmodern era.

Dr. Pion is a pseudonym for a physicist whose research once included study of the pi meson. His expertise also includes the history of nuclear weapons and proliferation, but his main interest today is teaching "physics for scientists and engineers". He uses the pseudonym CCPhysicist when commenting in certain blogs because he teaches at a community college.
There is no connection at all between this blog and the real people (a veterinarian and a physician) known as Dr. Pion who show up in a Google search on this name.

Yeah, I laughed at seeing "blog" on there. (not sure if we are the same generation or not, but it is funny regardless!)
You are probably the same generation as xkcd, but certainly not the same as me!
Seeing "blog" pass "postmodern" has me ROTFL.
