Definitely Worth the Drive
It required a fair bit of planning and effort, but this is what we saw this morning:
Yes, we saw Whooping Cranes flying behind an ultralight aircraft to their winter residence, courtesy of Operation Migration. Unforgettable. Vehicle we saw that traveled the furthest: Washington state. Birders are nuts. Count us among them.
wow... I'm late on commenting, but this is pretty incredible. Thanks for sharing. We got sandhill cranes over where I am, which are impressive enough, but v. cool to see endangered whooping cranes....
